My Final Fling with the girl who's life I saved on a Spanish Beach (Part 3)
Mister_Funktastic

Not a huge amount of naughty stuff in this part, a lot of setting up the weekend, but that first night it was one of my favourite experiences at uni. This part builds up to a large amount of the good stuff in the next one. Persevere. I promise it's worth it.
A quick change into a t-shirt and denim shorts and I was off to put in the pizza. I was still in a bit of shock that she was here, in my dorm room and couldn't believe what had just happened and so I sat kinda staring into space while the oven in the day room (the name for the common area) preheated. I slid the pizza into the oven just as the day room door opened. It was a few of my friends: Jason, Blake and Chris, all three of them also studying 3d games art.
"Hey dude, how's it going?" Jason asked as he came in and went to the fridge.
"She's here."
"Who, this Toni chick? the one Blake says doesn't exist?" he said with a grin. We all said he looked like the Milkybar kid.
"You make me out to be some kind of desperate loser, how many girls have you pulled this year? Besides, you've seen the pictures."
"Yeah, of a catfish." Blake chimed in. "You know Adam upstairs has some fish food in his room."
"Ha bloody ha"
"And besides," Jason said ,"Yeah you shagged that one fit lass on Freshers week, Katie, but after Amanda, who have you been with?
"Two more than you."
"Whatever. "
"If you decide to leave the catfish on her own and join us, we're gonna make food then go play some Street Fighter if you wanna join."
"If I decide to give up on her, I will."
Fat chance of that happening.
With that I went back to the room, where Toni sat cross legged in front of my TV in some leggings and a t-shirt, having a look through some of my games.
"Can we play this?" she asked, holding up a copy of one of my favourite older PS1 games.
"Crash Team Racing?" I asked "I hadn't taken you for a gamer."
"There's lots you don't know about me, mister. My whole family used to sit and play this when we were kids, it was about the only time we would all get along."
"Okay," I said with a grin and holding my hands up in mock defeat, let's go get the pizza and you can show me your "mad skillz."
"You want me to come with you?" She asked, looking up at me from her spot on the carpet.
"Yeah, you can pick a drink."
I led her to the dayroom without another word, no one needed to know I had an ulterior motive.
"That was quick, give up on her al-", Blake started as I walked in, but his words caught in his throat when Toni entered the room behind me. The three of them just sat there staring. Toni just looked awkwardly at them and then back at me.
"This is Jason, Blake and Chris, there on my course. Guys, this is Toni."
"Hi." Toni said, her usually bright and bubbly self.
"Er…alright?" Blake said.
I led Toni over the kitchen area and sorted her out with some Fanta, then took out and sliced the pizza.
"See ya in a bit guys." I said moments later, plated pizza in one hand and waving to the group with the other. They were saying nothing.
Toni held the door open for me and it swung closed slowly enough for me to hear a "What the fu-!" before it slammed shut.
We sat and ate the pizza in companionable silence. Toni pretty much inhaled hers, and I looked over at her eating the crust of her last slice before I'd even started my second.
"What?" she said, her mouth still half full but covering it with her hand. She swallowed and continued, "I didn't want to look all bloated for you. I haven't had anything all day."
"Yeah like that was ever going to happen."
"Hey I've put like a stone on."
"Shut Up, you know you're sexy as hell."
She just rolled her eyes at me.
"We'll also need to set the PS1 up, it's in the drawer." I said.
"I can do it." She responded with a smile.
What followed was me getting absolutely trounced round after round on Crash Team Racing, and I was by no means inexperienced. The first race I went easy on her but after that the gloves were off, yet it made no difference. She was absolutely loving it and cackled madly when she bumped me into a purple chomping plant on Papu's Pyramid and flew past me at the finish line. I was trying not to be a sore loser but I could see that she was loving the look on my face.
"Alright, she said, still half laughing, "I'll make you a deal… if you can beat me on Oxide Station, when we go out I won't wear any knickers."
A gulp.
"You're on."
I've never raced so hard in my damn life and as we approached the finish line neck and neck I was gripping the controller so hard I'm sure I nearly broke it. The next second and she'd driven straight into a nitro crate and I had victory. I cheered but something didn't feel right.
"Did you let me win?" I asked with a comically suspicious side-eye.
"I have NO idea what you mean." she responded sarcastically.
"Hmm I should punish you for that somehow."
"Oh no, whatever will I do?" she said, playfully hiding from me with her arms, before dropping them "Jokes aside though I'm pretty sore so the "punishing" will have to be later."
"Ha, no worries."
"How long've we got?" she asked.
"An hour." I shrugged.
"Fuck, well I need to get ready." she said, bolting to her feet, "Will you show me how to use the shower?"
"Not unless you want to be even sorer." I replied with a grin.
"Ha, my pussy is a no go zone, but if you join me you can soap up my boobies."
"Fucking deal!." I responded and bolted upright myself, which earned a giggle.
Of course I was rock solid all the way through that shower, but it was worth it to soap up her large, gorgeous breasts and watch the bubbles dripping off her nipples. After she was clean she washed me as well, but when she started to get a bit handsy down below I stopped her with a "Nah ah. You don't get to play with him and not finish him off, and we only have like 45 minutes and you still need to get ready."
"Fine." she responded with fake anger.
"What are you gonna wear?" she asked, "Don't wanna be overdressed."
"Jean's and a nice t-shirt. Nothing too fancy." was my reply.
Forty five minutes later and she was stood in the bathroom with the door open just touching up her makeup while I sat on the edge of my bed, noodling a bit on my acoustic guitar. I won't lie, I was definitely trying to show off.
Toni came out of the bathroom with her makeup bag and flung it into her suitcase. Her hair was mostly down, but the strands that framed her face she'd pulled up and behind her and placed them in a metal clasp. She was wearing white converse, a black leather skirt and a long sleeved black crop top made of this stretchy thin corduroy like material which showed off her stomach. The top went up to her neck and while her stomach tried to draw the gaze in vain, the piercings on her nipples took most of my attention, even though the imprints were muted somewhat by her bra.
"You know," she said, opening her purse and checking through it "If you carry on like that we won't be leaving the flat this whole weekend."
I just carried on, trying to remember the tab for "Un dia de Noviembre" before eventually saying "I'm not opposed to the idea."
"Well my foo is, so put down the guitar and finish getting ready."
"I only have to put my shoes on."
"Well come on then."
I put my guitar down and bent down under the bed looking for some shoes.
"Nagging me already?" I asked, reaching under and pulling out my Vans "How will we ever survive?"
"Fuck you!"
"Later, apparently."
"If you're good."
"I'm always good."
"Put your fucking shoes on!!" she snapped, but was grinning.
I rolled my eyes and said "Yes,dear", which earned me a slap across the back of the head.
"Domestic violence!" I cried, my shoes now on my feet "I can't handle it, I need to get out of here."
I got to my feet, grabbed my keys and wallet and made my way to the door before turning to look at her to ask:
"You coming?"
—-------------
I felt all jittery and nervous as we took the short ten minute walk to the Students Union bar where the Karaoke was held. I took Toni by the hand and in the other I texted my friend Pete to tell him that we were on our way.
All I got in reply was: "We??!!".
Toni confessed that she was nervous about meeting my friends and if there was anything she should know. I told her that we were going to meet with Pete, his girlfriend Kat, as well as Louise and Frosty, all of which were in the Drama society and that she would be absolutely fine. She asked if there was anything she could use to get them to like her. I of course told her not to worry about it, but if anything Louise and Kat are both obsessed with Harry Potter and all things shoes.
I held the big heavy white door open of the SU for her and we went through the entrance and up a wide spiral staircase to what was called The Terrace Bar. It was essentially a big rectangular room, a bar along one side, a balcony/smoking area on the other. At the back of the room was the DJ booth, there was a small raised stage area in front of that which overlooked the dancefloor. From the stage, beyond the dancefloor you could see a large seating area a raised few steps up with multiple booths and tables and on the far wall behind them the karaoke lyrics were to be projected onto a screen.
When we got into the bar it was absolutely heaving and I remembered only then that it was the last week of varsity. While I'd played the last American football game of the year last week, today was the basketball and field hockey games against a nearby university. It was so busy it took us a few minutes to get to the Drama gang's usual table on the raised seating area but right at the edge of the dancefloor. Benefits of having one of the head bar staff members in the society meant he would keep the stools on the table and a sign saying "cleaning in progress" until one of us arrived.
We received a cheer from the gang when they saw us, but I saw Pete and Frosty give each other sideways glances as they got to the table when they noticed Toni.
Quick introductions came after we got to the large rectangular table and soon I was sat with the boys at one end. Toni sat next to me and next to the girls. The other end was left empty for other friends who would be joining later.
"So, how did you guys meet?" Frosty asked. He was a short, slightly rotund bloke, with spiky hair, glasses, a dark sense of humour and a loyalty streak unmatched by anyone I've met since.
"So you remember that girl I told you about over summer?'
"The one who was way out of your league, yeah?" he replied with a grin.
"Really!?" Pete said in surprise.
"Ahem, I'll think you'll find he's outta mine." Toni edged in.
"Not when you see the video of his reaction when he woke up to find we'd filled his room with mushrooms." Kat said, grinning.
"Don't you fucking dare." I exclaimed.
But it was too late, the phones were already out and I chose that moment to mumble that I was going to the bar. A quick word to Pete as to the song I wanted to perform for him to request from the DJ and I made a hasty exit.
Standing in the queue for the bar, I could occasionally catch glimpses of the table. Pete and Frosty had clearly taken Toni under their wing as I knew they would.
While taking another quick glance where I could see her talking animatedly to Kat and Louise I was interrupted by a loud call of "Oi, Bambi!" causing me to look around, come into the queue behind me were several guys from the American Football Team, Bambi was the nickname I was given right at the beginning of the year and it stuck.
Right at the front was the 1st and 2nd of our dynamic trio, Blue the quarterback and Plug, our top scoring wide receiver. I was their third, the top running back in the team, due to me still being quite slim and being completely fearless in slipping through gaps between Linebackers twice my size. American Football in the UK isn't like in the US. Nowhere near as prestigious so they took people of all shapes and sizes who wanted to play, but only the best made the first team. What this meant though was that sometimes I came up against some absolute giants. More on that later.
Plug was the one who spoke up first. He was a bit goofy looking bloke, but his confidence, tattoos and electric blue eyes made him a hit with the ladies. He was named Plug for the large ear stretcher piercings he wore.
"Bambi, who the hell was the girl you walked in with? She's fit as fuck.'
"Just a girl I know from the summer." I replied.
"Is she single?" Blue interjected. Of course the quarterback had to be the best looking of the group, he usually did well with pulling when the girls were all hammered, but they had to be drunk or they easily realised how full of himself he was.
"Well she's here with me, but she's recently broken up with her boyfriend" There was no point in lying, what if he went up to her and just asked her?
"Well step aside, I'm gonna have a crack at her." Blue said with a pompous smirk.
"Mate, you can't break the bro code." Plug answered.
"All's fair in love and war," I heard Blue reply as I ordered our drinks from the bartender: Two double vodka and Red Bull's, "Besides, Bambi doesn't mind a bit of competition, do you Bambi?"
"Uhhh." I responded, half distracted by paying for the drinks and half not knowing what to respond.
"You're confident she likes you right? Even though, you know," Blue gestured at his body arrogantly, "So you won't mind me talking to her?"
"Sure dude, whatever."
I vowed that I would make sure that he didn't have a chance to get any time with her as I walked back to the table with the drinks. I passed Pete and Frosty on their own way to the bar on my way back and they told me I'd have to go around rather than through the dancefloor now as there were too many people.
As I came up behind the girls at the table, all I heard Kat shout back to Toni over the loudness of the current singer was "Damn, if I'd known that maybe I woulda chosen him instead of Pete!" followed by a chorus of giggles.
"What are we talking about?" I asked as I edged around the table past some other students and sat down.
Toni didn't reply, but blushed. Louise, the "lovable little midget" as we called her said "Toni was just telling us just how you met, and you know what Kat's like, she wanted every every little detail.
"Or not that little, apparently." Kat added with a grin.
It earned another chorus of giggles from the three of them, including Toni, who now had her head in hands and laughed faceplanting the table.
"Toni?" I said.
"What?" She said, raising her head to look at me with an expression like she was being accused, "She's really convincing."
"Yeah it took all of ten minutes."
Suddenly her expression was worried. "You aren't mad at me are you?" I only told her because she got out of me that well…something I told her before I didn't want getting out just now."
"And not ALL the details," she added, speaking quieter, just to me at her side.
I had no idea what "the thing" would be, but why would I be mad if she told the story of how we met, it was up until that point the greatest day of my life.
"No, I'm not mad."
"Good," she replied with a smile, "What did you get me?"
"Double vodka, Red Bull."
"Like at the hotel!" she exclaimed happily and gave me a kiss and the cheek, which made my whole body feel electrified.
Sporadically, the long table we had commandeered for the Drama society was filled with more of our members. With so many of us we were quite often called up for karaoke. Pete, who had been chatting to Toni and bonding over being from Manchester was called up to sing one of his usuals, Dancing in the Moonlight by Toploader. He was excellent as usual, though his operatic voice did make him sound a little theatrical. Then it was time for a friend of ours Frank McBride to sing Holding out for a Hero. He always changed the lyrics to "he's gotta be strong he's gotta be fast, he's gotta be Frankie McBride." We'd heard it a million times and so no longer laughed and Pete spoke to me quietly while Toni was chatting with the girls.
"Are you sure you're gonna do that one, mate? I know you've been practising it but Toni's here and there's a lot of people."
"I'm nervous, but I can do it flawlessly now."
"Okay man, good luck."
Next, to my surprise, it was Toni up to sing, and as she walked to her stage she got a number of catwalks and wolfwhistles. The lights shone on her hair and face as she took the microphone from the DJ and a moment later, the song started. She'd chosen "Since You've Been Gone" by Kelly Clarkson and the moment the first note escaped her mouth I knew she would nail it.
"I like her, you know," Kat said loudly across the table, "You need to try keep a hold of her, she seems like one of the good ones. And she really likes you."
"She's moving to Vienna for a year soon." I replied with a sad smile.
"So fucking what?!"
"Long distance doesn't work."
"Only if you don't make it work. It's only a year."
But I didn't know if I could do a year. Heck I'd only realistically known her physically for two days even though we'd spoken a lot more than that online. As I watched her build to the second chorus both excitement and dread swirled inside me, each feeling both threatening to consume the other.
She was blushing from the crowd's reaction and when she shakily meandered back to the table I got up from my chair and told her how amazing she was and gave her a big hug, not knowing how she'd feel about public displays of affection in front of my friends.
I watched her drain the last of her drink in one go, wipe her mouth before she said "Being a superstar is thirsty work you know." She followed that up with a comically "L'Oréal" flip of her hair.
"Guess I'm going back to the bar then." I replied with a laugh and a wide smile.
The queue for the bar was now really busy, and I'd been standing in it for
15 minutes when I got a text from Frosty.
"Your mate from football is chatting to Toni."
To my horror couldn't see anything through the queue behind me, and I was contemplating abandoning the trip for more drinks but to my right my thoughts were interrupted when I was enveloped by a thump of a hug, my face instantly covered with long, coffee-brown hair.
"Josh!" the girl said over my shoulder as she held on a little too long, breasts pushed into my chest "How are you? You and Amanda broke up right?"
She pulled away and Katie, the only other girl I'd slept with at uni apart from Amanda came into view. Tall, willowy and ethereally pretty as usual, the brunette stood in a patterned teal maxi dress that showed off her long legs. Katie was the girl that showed me that me pulling one pretty girl wasn't merely a fluke and we'd texted a little bit in the "seeing each other" stage of Amanda and I's relationship. Ultimately, though, she'd been super clingy and would often ring my phone and hang up to get my attention if I didn't text back in the timeframe she wanted. She was hot, but just too damn much and absolutely did my head in so I broke things off with her and went with Amanda.
"Yeah," I replied, "We broke up a little while ago."
I turned to the bartender to order drinks, the same again for Toni and I.
I turned around holding the drinks and Katie smiled at me.
"Aww, did you get that for me?" she asked, grabbing me softly by the arm.
"No," I replied awkwardly, "It's for-"
But who it was for immediately popped up out of nowhere, said "Hi," snatched her drink out of my hand and then firmly gave me a long kiss on the lips that made my head spin.
"Hi yourself," I said, "Toni, this is Katie."
"Hi," Both of them said in a deadpan unison before Katie turned back to me.
"Looks like you've, uh, already got your hands full so I'm gonna go back to my friends." Katie said, shakily looking Toni up and down.
"That's right, he has. Buh-bye now." Toni replied with a glare and a condescending wave of her fingers.
Katie stalked off without another word and was received by a group of girls at the edge of the dancefloor who a moment later glared at Toni and I.
I looked at Toni quizzically, I hadn't expected her to react like that.
"What?!" she asked like I was silly for even questioning anything about her reaction.
"Feeling a bit possessive are we?" I teased.
"I just don't like other people touching my things."
"Ah so I'm just a thing to you?" I jested.
"Well you've got a thing. A rather nice thing, but I'm more fond of the person it's attached to." she responded with a grin.
"Good answer.' I said, taking a sip of my grin.
"Anyway it wasn't just seeing her getting all huggy with you that made me come over," she said, taking me by the hand to lead me back to the table, "This guy that knows you apparently from the American Football team sat right next to me without asking and started going on about how much better than you he was."
I just rolled my eyes and grinned. For a beautiful man to look at, Blue wasn't gifted with anything that could resemble game.
"Oh yeah? I said, "What did you do?"
"Just said "Not interested" and turned to talk to Louise. He soon got the message."
"Brilliant!" I replied with a laugh.
I'd literally just pulled out a seat for Toni at our table when the DJ's voice came loud over the speakers.
"And next onto the stage give a warm welcome to our next performer, it's Josh!"
Taking one big gulp of my drink I placed it on the table in front of Toni and began to make my way through the crowd, so nervous at what I was about to attempt I'm pretty sure I was visibly shaking.
I approached the DJ, he handed me the mic with wishes of good luck and I turned around to face the crowd. The place was absolutely packed and the dancefloor was now nearly completely. Over the heads of the crowd on the other side of the dancefloor I could see the drama table. Pete nodded his head, Frosty gave me a big thumbs up and Toni sat looking intently, elbow resting on the table, supporting her head with her hand.
Now I'll be honest, as a kid who'd grown up on rock and metal I'd never much been into hip hop or rap, but as a suburban white kid who'd been beaten down a lot in high school, Eminem was the only rapper who got through to me. In fact, I was an absolute stan and knew all the lyrics to a lot of his songs, but I'd never had the nerve to perform them in public.
But tonight was the night, like I'd said to Toni before, go big or go home. I was determined to do this right, to not embarrass myself in front of the crowd, my friends and Toni. That coupled with the sheer excitement of performing gave me such adrenaline that at the moment when that famous intro of "Obie Trice, no names, no gimmicks" played, all semblance of self slipped away. There was no me and the moment, I was the moment.
The crowd started moving straightaway, something a bit more upbeat than the usual conveyor belt of crooners and ballads that karaoke usually provides setting them in motion immediately. A couple of the lads at the front were putting their hands up and waving them up and down, ironically, laughing between themselves.
But then I opened my mouth starting with "Two trailer park girls go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside" and from that first line I swear on my life for the entire song I nailed every single one, I got every single intonation of each individual syllable absolutely perfect.
Most of the first verse of "Without Me' was a blur and I only started to come round to how well it was going when the lads' ironic hand waving became no longer ironic and the movement of the crowd started to increase. With the line "So, come on and dip, fuck that, cum on your lips and some on your tits." I looked over at Toni. She looked enraptured, both her and the entire Drama gang were on their feet and dancing and it gave me the confidence to push my performance even further. As the first verse ended with me holding out the mic to the crowd for them all to shout "Fuck you Debbie!" it spurred most of the crowd joined in with the chorus and the attention it brought squeezed even more people to the dancefloor.
As that chorus ended that was it. I knew I had the crowd in the palm of my hand and so it was at verse two when things really took off.
It was the line "so just let me revel and bask in the fact that I got everyone kissing my ass" and the following lines that set the whole crowd pumping. To be honest that whole section sounds a lot more difficult than it is, but I spat the lines and played the crowd like I was Slim Shady himself and all of a sudden it was like I was in a music video. The entire crowd was grooving, had their hands up in the air and like a sea they moved them up and down to the beat. Three cheerleaders even from the visiting university got on stage and started dancing on me as I swaggered around the stage interacting with the crowd as much as possible. I was determined to ride this fifteen minutes of fame out to the very end. I made it to the second chorus and the whole bar was now singing along and then I slayed the final verse and took it all the way to the end. The crowd applauded, whistled and cheered loudly when I'd finished and I made my way back through them to the table, receiving numerous pats on the back and even a cheeky grab on the butt, whether that was from a man or woman I have no idea.
Toni stood at the edge of the platform to greet me as I got to the raised sitting area at the back. There was a glint in her eye, but before I said anything she grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me towards her. She gave me a huge kiss as wolf whistles sounded around us, but I was deaf to all noises around me when she whispered in my ear: "You need to take me home."
I didn't need telling twice.
